A long career requires permanent self-improvement.
I was born in Punto Fijo/Venezuela in 1956 and studied clinical psychology at Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) and music therapy at the University of Minnesota. My further training included, among other topics, Gestalt therapy as well as coaching at the Franklin Covey Institute.
Since 1990, I have been running my own private practice as a clinical psychologist and music therapist. Over the past fifteen years, my services have gradually evolved into consultative coaching with a progressive approach, an own methodology, and a modern mode of practice.
In 1998, I co-founded the Association of Venezuelan Music Therapists (ASOVEMUS), where I hold the role of Vice President to this day. Voluntarily, I worked for various foundations such as Fundación Alzheimer de Venezuela and FUNDELF, a foundation that dedicates to the development of autistic children in contact with dolphins. Starting in 2005, I served as director of IDIS, a pedagogical program to train caregivers for elderly people.
After leaving IDIS in 2010, I expanded my consulting services to global online coaching and internationalization in the field of training. In 2014 my first book "Criar Hijos con Astucia" was released in the Spanish language. It is a practical manual for parents about raising children in the contemporary world.
Currently, I am managing member at Aury Tovar - Consulting & Coaching LLC. The company is based in Minneapolis/USA, where I also reside.
